Fischer personal stamp in a data base or on your site. Technically, it was
issued by Iceland in 2010 in sheets of 24 self adhesive stamps with a generic
design of a soccer player--and is illustrated as such both in Scott's and on
the WNS site-- but, there was an option to create your own personal design with
the payment of additional costs. I just checked, and it is being sold on
Delcampe with the soccer design. I think someone is liable to order #1203 sight
unseen from a dealer thinking he will get the Fischer stamp. Should be: Iceland
unlisted personal stamp, 2011.

considered a creative genius and one of the best players of all time. Tal
played in attacking and daring combinatorial style. His play was known
above all for improvisation and unpredictability. It has been said that
"Every game for him was as inimitable and invaluable as a
poem". He was often called "Misha", a diminutive for Mikhail,
and he earned the nickname "The Magician from Riga". Both The
Mammoth Book of the World's Greatest Chess Games and Modern Chess
Brilliancies include more games by Tal than any other player. He also
previously held the record for the longest unbeaten streak in competitive chess
history with 95 games (46 wins, 49 draws) between 23 October 1973 and 16
October 1974, until Ding Liren's streak of 100
games (29 wins, 71 draws) between 9 August 2017 and 11 November 2018. In
addition, Tal was a highly regarded chess writer.

Lou wrote: Stamperija has outdone
itself in proving it is bad for stamp collecting, and has little
regard for the collector, On their site last night (06.01.2023), they announced
a Niger issue on "August 20, 2022" of 6 sheetlets
of 20 stamps with the theme of Chinese History on Stamps, all showing SoS of rare Chinese stamps (I think all have been on SoS previously), with a notice that they are sold out and
not available for purchase from them!
So, even before they were officially put on sale,
privileged wholesalers were allowed to snap up the supposedly 6000 stamps
in each issue, perf'ed and imperf.
Only the perf'ed sheetlets
were priced, at €19.80 each, so I can imagine that even a set of 6 singles will have an extravagant price when they are
finally offered.

Komlóssy wrote: The stamps on the arches are
very interesting and special. Among them, the back four are especially SOS
in my opinion. It is depicted on the third and
sixth Chinese stamps (from 1953 "war stamp" marked M3 and from 1956
marked MV). It depicts stamps issued by the Fourth and Fifth Chinese
Empires (from 1941, the version of the M166 stamp, in which the inner part was
printed in reverse, and from 1913, the version of the M166 stamp marked
IIK). However, the image of the first two Niger stamps causes a
problem. The image that appears first is not a postage stamp, but an image
with a Chinese inscription, only a part of which is depicted
on a Chinese stamp (marked MA1027 from 1968). I don't
think it's SOS! The figure appearing on the second, however, is very
similar to MA1027, but neither the name of the publisher nor the nominal value
is visible. I don't think it's SOS either!
Lou
respond: Zoltan is correct that the two reproduced stamps have their
inscriptions and values omitted, but taking a second look, they
seemed strangely familiar. The "designer" virtually copied Guinea
Bissau Mi 6330 from 2012 and Guinea Bissau Mi 6515 from 2013 and just changed the country/value
panels. See scans. In my databases for these issues, I listed them:
Guinea Bissau ... Design Component: inscription, value omitted.
China
PR #999A was issued, but then withdrawn because Taiwan was not colored in red
in the map portion (the omitted inscription reads "The Whole Country Is
Red"). The other stamp was part of a two stamp set prepared in 1996, that
was never issued because a political figure depicted on one had fallen out
of favor with Mao, and on the other, very similar in design to #996A,
Taiwan is also not red. In both cases a number of
stamps of each reached the philatelic market, and now command very high
prices. See scans.
To
stay consistent with those previous listings, I would keep both in
the lists with notations as to the design omissions-- if you buy this set, you get them in your collection anyway.

that Niger issued two s/s on December 22, 2023 to commemorate the 100th
Anniversary of the First Winter Olympic Games (which happened in
2024). These are probably among the best for the year from Stamperija's designers, both artistically and
for SoS content.
There were
no stamps issued for the Winter Olympics in 1924, but I'm
impressed that the designer actually searched for and found an Ajman
stamp from 1971 that reproduced a photo taken at those games. All the
other SoS are appearing for
the first time and some rarely seen countries are represented. Possibly to show the friendly competition between nations in
the Olympics, one value shows Russian and Ukrainian stamps
together, and another pairs Romanian and Moldovan stamps. And for me, there was one stamp that had its country name
hidden, so a little research was needed to find it. In the
backgrounds, are the only minus for the issue; portions of non-stamps
with gibberish inscriptions were added instead of actual stamps.
